Marketing Takes Effort, Not Time

People confuse marketing taking time to build momentum with the amount of effort they are putting in.

Effort is the key, not time

It only takes a “long” time if you spread that effort out to thinly.

For instance, you could go to 1 networking event a month for a year, or 12 networking events in one month. The amount of effort is the same but the elapsed time is very different. And the outcome will be very different too. You’ll make a far bigger impact doing 12 in one month than over a year!

The same is true in all types of marketing.

You need to be omnipresent

If you want to be the “go to” person in your area for your expertise then you need to become omnipresent. Basically you need to be everywhere “they” look (“they” being your ideal clients).

Becoming omnipresent doesn’t happen by accident but does happen with focused effort.

With all the social media channels available to you now it’s easier than ever to make a lot of noise (let’s face it that’s what being omnipresent is all about).

I know it also means it noisier and harder to stand out but that’s only true if you make a tiny bit of noise. But if you go LOUD, with a great message, you will stand out.

Time to review your effort

Think about your marketing effort over the last 6 months. Ask yourself…

Could I have condensed the same amount of effort into a smaller amount of time to make a bigger noise?

Have I made it clear why my ideal clients should buy from me and not my competitors (this is about your USPs and not putting down your competition)?

Have I consistently & constantly been marketing my services?

Have I consistently and constantly shared my knowledge through blogs, videos, commenting in forums and so on? Have I ceased every opportunity to attend networking events in my area?

Have I jumped on every chance to speak at an event to demonstrate my breadth of knowledge?

The list could go on and on but I’m sure you get the picture.

Want better results?

I see way too many businesses that are desperate to gain clients fail at doing the basics, and amazingly it’s quite often that they spread their effort out too thinly over time.

If you want better results you need to step it up.

Fortune favours those whom take action!

Your ideal clients are out there right now looking for you but they can’t find you. Go help them. Go turn up the volume on your marketing effort right now.
