It’s time to step it up.
Yes, it’s been a bit of a roller coaster of a week but I’m encouraged by the number of business owners I’ve seen that are really using this time to step things up in their business.
Life and business is changing there’s no doubt about that and the rate at which you keep up with the change and adapt your business in the current climate will pay dividends.
Here’s three things that will help you make sure your business is as well placed as possible now and for when things are calmer.
Be clear on what you’re offering
Many service-based businesses will need to adapt and change their offering. The obvious pivot is to move delivery from being face to face to online. However, where that’s not possible there are also options you could consider niching into a different market who are more likely to need what you sell in the current climate. There may also be new services you can offer as well – what is it you can offer. Focus on offering one thing, for one audience and make sure it’s helping your ideal clients resolve the problem they’ve got right now.
Now is not the time to step away from your marketing
From speaking to many of our clients over the past week or so a number of them are taking the opportunity to ramp up their marketing which has to be a good thing.
In the Health & Wellness sector we have a number of clients who are still doing business, if not more business than previous months. They’re marketing and serving more clients and are really standing out from their competition. Marketing doesn’t have to be complicated. It’s a process. Identify your ideal clients, focus on the pain, problems or challenge they have or what they’ll gain by working with you. Explain the transformation they’ll get from working with you and don’t forget a clear call to action.
More and more people are going to be spending time online so make sure you’re making the most of online groups and networking, growing your audience and video!
It’s still your choice!
Everything has changed so quickly. I totally understand that. I’m juggling a business, self isolation and kids being home from school. You have little control of what is happening in the outside world right now but you do totally have the choice on whether you watch the news or turn it off, whether you pull back and step off the treadmill for a while or whether you strap yourself in tightly and control the things that you can and choose to survive and thrive.
You’ve got this far, you’re in control of what you can do from here on out.
You can choose to freeze, to survive or to thrive.
I know what choice I’m making. You can do the same.
We’ve got this and we’ve got your back too.
