I think there’s something about human nature that makes a lot of us naturally inquisitive and drives our thirst for knowledge.
But sometimes that thirst can actually inhibit our progress.
“Learners are Earners” a phrase I’ve heard several times recently but I disagree with it. Learning is only part of the puzzle. Academics are great learners but they would be the first to tell you that they aren’t great earners so what’s the other side to this?
The One Key Activity
There is one key activity that sets apart successful businesses from those that struggle to get by and that’s IMPLEMENTATION.
Implementation is everything. It’s all about action. It’s that vital step between thinking of a good idea and actually making it happen.
Learning how to do things differently could be considered a hobby as in itself it won’t help your business.
Where do most people fall down?
In our society there is so much we could possibly learn when it comes to growing our businesses. We are bombarded with different courses to go on and it subliminally convinces us that we don’t know enough to grow our businesses right now.
That subliminal message really impacts our subconscious and prevents us from making the progress that we are already capable of achieving with our current knowledge base.
The exam question
If I was to put you in exam conditions right now to answer the question “List out all the different activities that you could do in the next month to grow your business” I bet you could easily list at least 10, and at a push you could probably fill the page.
That shows you do already know what you need to do to grow your business.
You may want to improve your skills in key areas such as digital marketing or productivity but let that enhance your implementation and results rather than be an “excuse” for not taking action right now.
There’s little that you can do that will totally screw up your business. In fact the biggest way to screw it up is to fail to implement.
